Boom Night and Twin Day to celebrate WCHS Homecoming
The middle school and high school will be full of twins today, as the theme for the day is "Twin Day". Dressing alike can be fun, and this week it shows the Lynx Spirit in the final days before the Homecoming game.
Tonight is also Boom Night, when the High School Homecoming King and Queen are crowned. This begins at 7 p.m. at the High School in the Prem Sahai auditorium, located at 1001 Lynx Avenue.
Genealogy workshop at Jane Young House Saturday
The Hamilton Heritage Hunters Genealogical Society will hold a genealogy workshop on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. for registration.
The Jane Young House is located at 629 Elm St., in Webster City.
The workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. Attendees should bring a brown-bag lunch, and laptops to participate for the entire day.
There is no charge for the workshop. Sessions will include WikiTree 101, Dating your photos in the modern world, understanding county genealogy societies of today and AI Genealogy research.
Block Party tonight on Seneca Street
Starting at 5 p.m., a free public block party will begin on Seneca St., inviting everyone to come and enjoy free music and refreshments.
Sponsored by the Legacy Learning-Boone River Valley and The Produce Station Pottery, the event encourages the community to get together and enjoy the beautiful fall weather.
Depot museum opens on Friday
The Depot museum located in the Wilson Brewer Park will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday in addition to the Saturday opening during the Fall Fest.
The Depot is located at 220 Ohio St. in Webster City.
