Fire Safety is focus of WCFD Open House

1 min read
Freeman Journal photo by Robert E. Oliver Oreo, the WCFD fire dog, was all about meeting everyone he could last night at the Fire Station Open House. His handler, Michael Lehman, in uniform, left, explained the role of firedogs today is to go to schools and help us teach fire safety to students. He's always a hit, wherever he goes.

The large turn-out at the Webster City Fire Department Open House allowed members of the Fire Department to teach many about different techniques to survive fires in their home, school or business.

The Open House was held in celebration of Fire Prevention Month, and gave community members a chance to learn and meet the many individuals who volunteer to serve the community when fires break out in homes, businesses, fields or motorized vehicles. The Fire Department is seeking new members to add to their team of First Responders.
