Commercial pesticide applicators classes to be held here Oct. 21

Classes held in Webster City; initial registration by Oct. 14.

The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Hamilton County office, located in Webster City will host a Forest, Aquatic, and Right-of-Way Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026. The program provided by the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is available across Iowa at various ISU sites.

The local training site is 311 Bank St Webster City. Preregistration may be required; walk-ins may not guarantee admission. This course starts at 9:00 a.m. Program run times may vary based on topics presented. Please allow for up to three hours to complete the program. The registration fee is $45 on or before October 14 and $60 after October 14.

The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 2 (Forest Pest Control), 5 (Aquatic Pest Control), and 6 (Right-of-Way Pest Control). Topics to be covered will include personal protective equipment and safe handling; professionalism, storage of pesticides, including chemical security; and category-specific pests, pest management and pesticides.

Please note that attendance at a CIC does not automatically renew an applicator's certification with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS).
