The voters turned out both early and throughout the day at the Ed Prince building in Webster City as voters were asked to vote on three issues concerning upgrades to the Webster City High School.
Essentially the three questions addressed were as follows:
1.To increase the levy for three years by $.57 per one thousand dollars of assessed value of taxable property.
2.To continue an existing levy for a period of ten years $1.34 per one thousand dollars of assessed value of taxable property.
3.To be allowed to use the funds from the State of Iowa Secure an Advanced Vision for Education fund toward the project.
The funds will be used to make improvements on the Webster City High School and a potential community center built near the existing high school.
According to Hamilton County Auditor Kim Schaa, 196 absentee ballots had been received through Friday, September 4.
The polls which opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 8 p.m., had nearly 1000 ballots cast as of press time.
