Voters approve all three issues to support Webster City High School improvements

The voters turned out both early and throughout the day at the Ed Prince building in Webster City as voters were asked to vote on three issues concerning upgrades to the Webster City High School.
A steady stream of voters Tuesday approved the three measures for the Webster City Community Schools to address their building needs at the High School.
According to Hamilton County Auditor Kim Schaa, 197 absentee ballots were received and 1384 total ballots were cast. The unofficial results were as follows:
Hamilton and Wright Counties:
Measure #1: 831 voted yes 548 voted no
Measure #2: 793 voted yes, 586 voted no
Measure #3: 853 voted yes, 529 voted no
Webster County:
Measure #1: 39 voted yes, 9 voted no
Measure #2: 35 voted yes, 13 voted no
Measure #3: 36 voted yes, 13 voted no
Essentially the three questions addressed were as follows:
1.To increase the levy for three years by $.57 per one thousand dollars of assessed value of taxable property.
2.To continue an existing levy for a period of ten years $1.34 per one thousand dollars of assessed value of taxable property.
3.To be allowed to use the funds from the State of Iowa Secure an Advanced Vision for Education fund toward the project.
The funds will be used to make improvements on the Webster City High School and a potential community center built near the existing high school.
According to Hamilton County Auditor Kim Schaa, 197 absentee ballots were received.
The polls which opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 8 p.m., had 1385 ballots cast by voters in Hamilton and Wright Counties, and an additional 49 ballots cast in Webster County.
