Wm. H. (Bill) Yungclas, Sr. has accepted the appointment as co-chairman for the Webster City Centennial committee, it was announced today by Chamber of Commerce officials.
Two years ago the chamber appointed Walt Aman and Glenn Long as co-chairmen of a centennial committee to gather preliminary information regarding the 100th anniversary celebration. It was also intended that the two men would serve as co-chairmen for the centennial itself.
Long, however, who has been state president of High Twelve is serving as international publicity chairman for HIgh Twelve International. The international organization plans to hold its annual convention at Sioux City next year at the same time as the local centennial, and Long told chamber directors he did not feel that he could perform his best services to both organizations, so he tendered his resignation from the local committee.
