Terms expiring for a variety of boards and commissions

Each city in the county and Hamilton County not only have elected positions, but there are a number of boards and commissions which depend on citizen involvement. Appointments are made as needed, but often resignations occur off the cycle of normal term limits. The following is a partial list of the boards, current members and expiration dates of those appointments.

When a vacancy occurs on the boards, there are normally ads placed in the newspaper and applications are available at the Auditors office.

Serving on these board is a good first step to learning how the county functions and see the inner-working of our government. To serve on any of these boards, contact the Hamilton County Auditors office for more information and an application.

The following are the list of boards from Hamilton County:

Agricultural Extension: This council is composed of nine elected members, each who serve a four year term. Board members receive no compensation.

Ortrude Dial, Williams: term expires 12/31/2028

Stephanie Kruger, Webster City: term expires 12/31/2028

Brooke McKibbon, Webster City: term expires 12/31/2028

Shelley Woodall, Kamrar: term expires 12/31/2028

Tyler Burton, Williams: term expires 12/31/2026

Leah Mason, Webster City: term expires 12/31/2026

Liz Collins, Stratford: term expires 12/31/2026

Luke Ahrens, Webster City: term expires 12/31/2026

Howard Isvik, Webster City: term expires 12/31/2026

Conservation Board: The board is made up of five members all appointed by the Board of Supervisors, serve for five-year terms and receive no compensation. This board governs all the county parks, in addition to the Briggs Woods Golf Course.

Jay Heeren: term up in 12/31/2029

Mike Brandrup: term up in 12/31/2027

Dennis Bahr: term up 12/31/2026

Diane Sinclair: term up 12/31/2028

Jim Rihardson: term up in 12/31/2030

Hamilton County Board of Health:

The board of health consists of five members, at least one of whom shall be licensed in Iowa as a doctor if medicine and surgery or as an osteopathic physician and surgeon, a registered nurse and three other representatives from the Hamilton County area.

All board of health members are appointed by the Hamilton County board of supervisors for a three-year term, which may be renewed by the board of supervisors

Magistrate appointing commission

This commission is composed of a district judge designated by the Chief Judge of the Judicial District to serve until a successor is designated Three members appointed by the board of supervisors, two attorneys elected by the attorneys in the county.
