Retail committee to meet at 9 a.m. at library

The Retail committee of the Webster City Chamber of Commerce will meet at 9 a.m. at the Kendall Young Library.

The library is located at 1200 Willson Avenue. Access will be through the north door.

First Congregational UCC Thrift Sale this weekend

The semi-annual Thrift sale begins Friday Morning at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational UCC located at 1000 Willson Ave. The sale continues until 6 p.m. Friday, and opens again at 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The cost is $7 per bag of items, unless otherwise marked. Proceeds from this sale help support other non-profit community projects in Webster City and the surrounding areas.

Tickets for Dueling Pianos still available

Tickets for the Sept. 26 fundraiser "Whiskers and Wine Comedy Night" are still available. The event, which will be held at the Briggs Woods Conference Center, is the largest fundraiser each year for The Cat Hut and Hamilton County Animal AdvoCATes.

The cost is $50 per ticket and $350 for a table of eight. All proceeds benefit the two organizations which provide Trap, Neuter, Release services for cats which are found in Hamilton County.

Planning meeting tonight for European trip

A trip abroad is in the discussion stages for 2028 for students and parents of the Webster City Community School. Trish Maski, science teacher at the Webster City High School, will be presenting an information meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the High School Media Center.

The main high school doors and the Lincoln statue doors on Lynx Avenue will be open for those attending.The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Those attending the meeting should park in the high school parking lot and enter the main entrance, or park on east side and enter by the Lincoln statue.

The tour will be for 8th through 11th grade students during 2028. The tour planner will be EF Tours, which coordinates educational tours. Parents and students can learn more at the meeting.
