Saturday night the Day Okay Jazz Project will again be performing in downtown Webster City, but the Garden Party will be moved inside..
The Wildcat Distillery will be providing the space, atmosphere, drinks and food available for purchase in the new location at 713 Second St. And the music will be free for all to enjoy, as the members of Day Okay bring their talents inside for their final performance of the season.
From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the band will provide music and encourage donations to help support the adjacent park that provides beauty and color to downtown Webster City.
Dave Parrott, Eric Hanson, Kirk Greenley, Amelia Oliver and Tamiann Parrott make up the regular performers of the Day Okay Jazz Project, but they indicated early on that they would include some guest artists at some of their gigs.
And that began at the last performance two weeks ago, as Eric Greenley joined the group both on the guitar and as a vocalist when they moved inside for the first time at the Wildcat.
This Saturday there will be another guest artist joining the core group on their stage in the Wildcat. And it will be a surprise when they take the stage. One more fun touch developed by the band organizers.
It's not exactly as they had hoped, as they had worked toward establishing an outdoor fairyland of lights and music in the Richard C. Carlson Garden. But the musicians are steadily establishing themselves with quality performances, setting the atmosphere for a relaxing evening in Webster City.
And sometimes there are surprises.
When a couple started dancing during their performances, no one was more pleased than the five members of Day Okay.
When there is standing room only on the main floor of The Elks.
When no one wants to leave.
It's meant to be a night to enjoy the music, meet up with community members, and develop new friendships in an atmosphere that says it's a great day to be here in Webster City
Sharing in the sights and sounds created by a group wanting so much more for Webster City,
