Veteran Affairs hosts coffee Wednesday
The Hamilton County Veterans Affairs will host their ‘Grounds for Service’ coffee Wednesday morning at the Hamilton County Courthouse.
This will begin at 8:30 a.m. and be held in the basement meeting room of the courthouse.
The coffee will provide an informal gathering of veterans and the Veterans Affairs office will offer information about what the local VA office can do to support veterans.
Trustees for Van Diest Medical Center meet Tuesday.
The Van Diest Medical Center board of trustees will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m.
This will be held in the Clinic board room located at 2350 Hospital Drive.
On the agenda is the approval of the FY 26 financial audit, pillar reports on the hospital management, growth and community, service excellence, quality and continuous improvement and financial performance. In addition there will be the Medical staff update and Mercy One update.
Coffee and Create returns to Legacy Learning
Each Monday through Friday, Coffee and Create will be open for the creative, crafty, artisans who enjoy gathering in the morning for their daily caffeine morning routine.
Starting at 9:30 a.m until 1 p.m., community members are invited to gather at Legacy Learning-Boone River Valley located at 719 Seneca St during the week.
Each day they will offer coffee for a free will offering, and expertise on a variety of projects. Join them for an inspiring morning of conversation, and get creative with experienced artists.
Town and Country Garden Club invites more to get involved
The Town and Country Garden Club will hold an open meeting on Thursday, Sept. 24, encouraging new residents and non-members to join and learn more about what the Town and Country Garden Club does throughout the year.
This meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the newest shelter in the West Twin Parks. Polly Hayes of Polly's Garden Center will be talking about mums. There will also be a plant, seed and bulb exchange.
Everyone is welcome to learn more about the club and the gardening tips they share throughout the year.
Drive-through Hamball dinner on Sept 27
The Alden United Methodist Church will hold a Drive through Hamball dinner next weekend.
The dinner will be on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or until all the food is gone. The dinner includes hamballs, cheesy potatoes and green beans. The cost is a free will donation that goes to the church.
The Alden United Methodist Church is located at 1512 Hardin St.
Golf Tournament for VDMC Foundation next weekend
Friday, Sept. 25, the Foundation of the Van Diest Medical Center will host the 11th annual golf outing. The 4 person best shot tournament will be held at the Briggs Woods Golf Course.
Registration begins at noon, with a lunch provided. The shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Later in the afternoon, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Day Okay Jazz Project will be entertaining.
The cost is $300 per foursome, not including cart rental. To reserve a spot, call 515-832-9572.
