On Saturday, August 1, the first annual Walk Today for Women Tomorrow campaign organized by P.E.O. brought together Chapters EL and JE of Webster City for a Sculpture Walk of downtown and West Twin Parks. The Walk raised funds to support women’s education.
P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) has been motivating, educating, and celebrating women for more than 156 years. The nonprofit organization has helped more than 129,000 women pursue educational goals by providing approximately $462 million dollars in the form of grants, scholarships, awards and loans.
Chapter EL of Webster was organized in 1914. Chapter JE was organized in 1946. Together they enjoyed looking at the sculptures while Janet Adams, representing Arts R Alive, shared a commentary about each sculpture.
