EMILY DEBORD
Webster City Middle School – School Counselor
Emily Debord is a graduate of Perry High School in Perry, IA. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in School Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa. She did her practicum experience at Lincoln Elementary in Waterloo during the 24-25 school year. This past year, she did her internship at Peet Jr. High School in Cedar Falls, IA. This year, she will be a School Counselor for 5th – 8th grade students at the Middle School.
Emily is getting married in October. She has a bearded dragon named Beans. She loves to spend time with family as well as shopping and reading. She is very excited to begin her career in School Counseling with a great team! As well as getting to make connections with teachers and students.
JENNA MCKINNEY
Sunset Heights Elementary – Special Education, Strategist 1.
Jenna McKinney is a graduate of Webster City High School. She is certified in K-6 Elementary classroom teaching, and K-8 Instructional Strategist, obtaining her degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She student-taught Kindergarten at Mease Elementary and 5th Grade Special Education at Humboldt Middle School. She was then a paraeducator for half a year following graduation from UNI. This year, she will be a Special Education Teacher as well as an Instructional Strategist 1: Mild/Moderate at Sunset Heights Elementary School.
Jenna was born and raised in Webster City, and she loves the small town community! In her free time, she enjoys coloring, crafting, reading, and spending time with her four pets (two cats and two dogs). She loves "all things girl" – pink, Starbucks, fresh nail sets, etc. Next May, she will be getting married to her fiancé, Jake!
She's most excited to finally have a classroom of her own and live out her dreams of becoming a teacher. She looks forward to getting to know everyone on a professional level and build teacher friendships within the District.
KAYLA POTRATZ
Northeast Hamilton Elementary School – Special Education
Kayla Potratz is a graduate of North Union High School in Armstrong, IA. She holds a bachelor’s degree and strategist 1 endorsement from the University of Northern Iowa. Previously, she was a paraprofessional at Humboldt Middle School and completed her
student teaching at Taft Elementary (4th Grade) in Humboldt, and Humboldt Middle School (5th Grade) for Special Education. She completed her practicum during her work hours as a paraprofessional. This year, she joins the Webster City School District at Northeast Hamilton Elementary School as Special Education for K-4.
Kayla lives in Goldfield, IA with her fiancé and their 3-year-old daughter. She enjoys arts and crafts, baking, and house DIY projects. She is most excited about meeting and getting to know all the staff and students as well as creating memorable experiences, and learning.
