Public meeting on the Webster City High School project is Wednesday

A public information Webster City High School Facilities Meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Prem Sahai Auditorium.

The public will be asked to vote at the special election on Sept. 8 to give the financial support it needs to move forward. The architects from FEH will be in attendance for this session. The public is invited to come and ask questions and get more information about this project.

Donors needed for blood drive Thursday

The Van Diest Medical Center will be the location for the blood drive to be held by Life Serve on Thursday.

The donations for blood will be given in the Clinic Board Room at the hospital, located at 2350 Hospital Drive.

Appointments for giving blood can be scheduled between 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. Appointments are encouraged by calling 800-287-4903 but walk in’s are also welcome. Those who donate blood will receive a Scooters cookie and a 20% coupon for the hospital gift shop.

Vilisca Axe murders subject of program at Mulberry Center Church

The Mulberry Center Church will be the site for a program to be held Saturday on the Villisca Axe murders.

The program begins at 1 p.m. at the church, which is located at the south end of the Wilson Brewer Park, 220 Ohio St.

The presentation will be by Dr. Edgar Epperly, who has authored a book on the subject called "Fiend Incarnate: Villisa Iowa Axe Murders".

The program is free to attend, but donations are always welcome to help fund the program and support the maintenance of the church.
