Tonight is Back to School night in Webster City
The annual Back to School night will be held tonight from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Webster City Middle School.
The Middle School is located at 1101 Des Moines St.
All students and families are invited to this evening designed as a one-stop location where families can access resources and support needed to start the school year successfully.
Individuals will be available to assist with Spanish during the evening.
Many free services will be available during the evening, including school registration, sports physicals, tech support for Infinite Campus, immunizations, food service support, hair cuts, dental screening, information on the Parent Teacher organization and a photo booth with Max the Lynx Mascot.
There will be a free dinner to the first 300 people attending the evening.
National Night Out will be held tomorrow
The National Night Out, a family event to meet, greet and enjoy the Hamilton County First Responders who help keep us safe throughout the year.
Everyone is welcome from 5 to 7 p.m., and it's an opportunity to meet local police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel and other first responders in addition to exploring emergency vehicles, visit informational booths and enjoy a night with friends, families and neighbors.
Hamilton County Crime stoppers will again host the nickel scramble, with complimentary hot dogs provided by HyVee, gift cards donated by Kwik Star, Kona Ice, balloon animals, a petting zoo, face painting and a bounce house.
This annual community event is jointly sponsored by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Dept., Webster City Police Dept., Hamilton County Conservation Dept., the Van Diest Medical Center, and the Hamilton County Crime Stoppers, and YOUR Inc.
16th Annual Sculpture in the Park Thursday
Arts R Alive will be hosting the 16th Annual Sculpture in the Park evening at the West Twin Parks on Thursday.
The West Twin Park is located at 1100 Superior St in Webster City.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m., and will conclude at 8:30 p.m. Live music will be provided by Jive for Five, and refreshments will be served by the evening Rotary Club.
The outside event encourages comfortable shoes for a stroll through the outdoor artwork exhibits and a lawn chair to sit on to enjoy the music.
