Hamilton County Fair kicks off events Tuesday

The Hamilton County fair opens Tuesday night with the Fair parade rolling through Webster City starting at 5:30 p.m.
Exhibitors have been getting set up throughout the weekend and will continue set-ups until the judging entries are set for each classification.
Entertainment for the week ranges from free music at the EBY Free Stage at the north end of the fairgrounds, to the grandstand events.
After the parade on Tuesday, a meal and beer garden will be set up on the fairgrounds, with the Hamilton County Fair Queen crowned at 8 p.m. in the Grandstand.
Free music will be happening each day at the EBY Trailer free stage. Performances begin at 8 p.m. each night. Performers include Tank Anthony on Tuesday, Lee Klett on Wednesday, Scott Kirkhart on Thursday, and Jack Wibholm on Friday. There is no cost to attend each of these musical events.
In addition to the Queen coronation on Tuesday, there will be a number of events hosted by the Hamilton County Speedway at the Grandstand.
On Wednesday there will be the Wackey Wednesday at the Races, featuring the Iron Man stock cars and B-Mods. The cost of this will be $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and kids under 16 and under free with school id. The pits open at 4 p.m., gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.
Thursday Night Thunder with Iron Man and SLMR East Region is the featured event in the Grandstand for Thursday. The cost for this event is $20 for adults, $17 for senior and $10 for 12 to 16 without school id. The pits open at 4 p.m., gates open at 5 p.m. hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 6:45 p.m.
On Friday, the Central Iowa Truck Pullers Association Truck Pull is presented by JA Concrete Construction. The Central Iowa Truck Pullers Association is bringing this event to the Grandstand. Prices are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and those 16 and under are free with a school id. The pits open for this at 4 p.m., gates open at 5 p.m., and racing starts at 6 p.m.
The Hall of Fame Night at the races is being held along with Kids Night. Modified, stock cars, B-Mods and Crown Vics will be racing. Prices for the grandstand are adults $15, seniors, $12, and 16 and younger are free. The pits open at 4 p.m.., gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
The cost to enter the fairgrounds with a car is $3 per day, or a season pass costs $10.
Tickets are sold to use on the midway at the fair office. The cost of the tickets are $7.50 for ten tickets. Each ride on the midway takes a different number of tickets.
The hours of the Midway are as follows:
Tuesday: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Wednesday: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Thursday: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday: 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday: Noon to 10 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The closing hours of the midway may be different if the rides are busy.
