English wins Grand Champion Market Hog Show at Hamilton County Fair

Wins Market Swine Division also at Central Iowa Showdown

Brendan English showed the Grand Champion pig at the Market Hog show held Saturday, July 25 during the Hamilton County Fair, in addition to winning the Central Iowa Showdown held on Sunday, July 26.

The 12 year old middle school student from Webster City is the son of Kristi Ray and is a member of the Cass Red Cardinals.

The Central Iowa Showdown which is held each summer, brings together champion exhibitors from across Central Iowa. The event gives 4-H and FFA members another opportunity to compete beyond their county fair.

In some cases, exhibitors may qualify for additional showcase events after the Central Iowa Showdown. English qualified to compete again at the "All Iowa Showdown” in Oskaloosa on August 9.
