American pickers seeking sites to film in Iowa

Webster City and Hamilton County might have a chance at being featured on an episode of "American Pickers."
A phone call received this week from a representative of the television series, "American Pickers," indicated that an episode of the History Channel television series may be filmed in this area in September 2026.
According to Herschel Johnson-Pollack, coordinating the publicity for "American Pickers," they are seeking locations to develop a route through Iowa and Illinois.
The purpose of the call was to identify locations to film, looking for leads. They are seeking the hidden treasures in our communities.
"It's anything old, any old bicycles, architectural salvage, or steam engines," Johnson-Pollack said, "It can be early furniture, early vending machines, pinball machines, juke boxes, bicycles, early cars, early radios and any early advertising or signage."
The key to bringing the film crew here is if we have the right stuff, whether hidden in an attic, basement, barn or sitting in our living rooms.
"The older the better," he summarized.
American Pickers is a documentary series that explores the world of antique "picking" on The History Channel. The hit show follows skilled pickers in the business, as they hunt for America's most valuable antiques. They are always excited to find historically significant or rare items, in addition to unforgettable characters and their collections.
According to a press release from American Pickers, as they hit the back roads from coast to coast, the Pickers are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way, they want to meet characters with amazing stories and fun items. They hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America's past along the way.
They are always looking to discover something they've never seen before.
