Fire rescue operation at Van Diest Supply Company

A fire was reported at Van Diest Supply Company Wednesday evening. In the above photo, the fire crews were on site, and no signs of fire, as the fire was already extinguished.
On Wednesday,the Webster City Fire Department (WCFD) received a call for a fire at a building within the Van Diest Supply Company. Engine 33 initially responded to the call, with Ladder 31, Rescue 35, and Truck 30 assisting.
Upon arrival, Engine 33 found smoke showing from the bay door of one of the buildings on the south side of the complex. A fire attack line was put into service with the seat of the fire located inside the building.
The fire was extinguished.
• All Van Diest Supply Center personnel were present and accounted for.
• Seven firefighters were sent to Van Diest Medical Center for observation and treatment for minor injuries sustained during operations. All seven were later released in good condition.
WCFD was assisted by Van Diest Medical Center, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Webster City Police Department, Stratford EMS, Kamrar EMS, Stratford Fire, Duncombe Fire, and Region V Hazmat duringthis operation. The area was cleared and all units were released.
