Blairsburg expands park shelter; dedicates new facility Sunday

The Blairsburg Shelter was dedicated Sunday to the community as over 60 people gathered together inside and outside the new addition to their park. The potluck dinner was open to both community members and others who were interested in trying out the new facility. A list of donors and volunteers were also recognized upon entering the building. The community room is available to rent for a cost of $75. The expansion project nearly doubled the size of the room, and added two large indoor bathrooms. Shirley Nelson, who coordinated the project estimated the capacity before the expansion was only about 40 people. Now it can accomodate about 75 people. The building includes a good sized kitchen with an open panel into the community space. Nelson said the building has been getting steady use ever since the work was completed.

Starting at $3.46/week.
