A large crowd turned out for the official grand opening of the Career Ag Academy Thursday, as Gene Gourley, president of the board, snipped the ribbon to make it official. "This is more than a building," said Gourley, "It's celebrating a vision." Gourley thanked the board members, donors, and the visionaries who helped create this new collaboration with the schools and fairgrounds. Gourley pointed also to the late Phil Voge who played a huge role in the project. Alberta Voge helped present a personal handwritten note and plaque that was given to Gourley during his remarks, which Voge had prepared before his death last year.
