All Cultures Equal (ACE) announces closure
After more than two decades of serving the Webster City community, All Cultures Equal (ACE) has announced that the organization will officially close its doors on June 30. The final ACE food pantry distribution took place on May 15.
ACE leadership shared that the decision comes after careful reflection on the changing needs of the community and a decline in demand for the organization’s services and resources in recent years.
The concept for ACE began in 1999 with the formation of the “Diverse Cultures Committee,” established to help address the needs and concerns of the growing populations of refugees and immigrants relocating to the Webster City area. ACE officially became an organization in 2001 and has spent the past 25 years working to support individuals and families through outreach, education, advocacy, cultural exchange, and community connection.
The organization was created during a time when immigration to the Webster City area was high and many new families were working to find connection, resources, and support in a new community. a.
ACE will establish a fund with the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation to continue supporting needs connected to its mission. The fund will provide ongoing support for local food insecurity efforts, English as a Second Language resources, and translation and interpretation assistance.
The organization expresses its sincere appreciation to the countless volunteers, board members, donors, community partners, and families who have been part of ACE’s journey.
Additional information highlighting the history and impact of ACE will be shared in an upcoming feature in the Daily Freeman-Journal.
