To clarify a story that appeared in Wednesday’s edition of The Daily Freeman-Journal, only the finance committee of the Van Diest Medical Center made a recommendation on the proposed tax levy. The administration of the hospital did not make any recommendation.

Also, a quote was incorrectly attributed in that same story. It was Chief Financial Officer Ashley Allers who said “I feel eliminating the 2.1 tax levy is not in the best interest of the hospital.”
