Artful entertaining series begins Wednesday
Legacy Learning Boone River Valley invites the community to take part in a two-part “Artful Entertaining” series this month, offering a unique combination of hands-on art, food, and social connection.
The workshop will be held at 719 Seneca St. in Webster City.
The first workshop, Painted Charcuterie Plate Workshop, will be held tomorrow from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.. Participants will paint and personalize a ceramic charcuterie plate using pre-cut stencils, transfers, and underglazes. No prior experience is needed. The finished plates will be kiln-fired and available for pickup at the second session.
A special highlight of the April 15 workshop is a guest appearance by Kevin Detzel of Lost Lake Cheese. Detzel will demonstrate butter making and everyone will be able to churn and use their own butter on their charcuterie plate.
The second workshop, Charcuterie Board Building Workshop, will take place on Wednesday, April 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to create a visually appealing charcuterie board using local cheeses, meats, and seasonal additions. Attendees will leave with a finished board and practical entertaining skills.
Participants may register for one or both workshops, but space is limited. The costs are $40 for April 15 and $30 for April 22, or $65 for both.
