The 2026-2027 school calendar was approved for the Webster City Community School District Monday night at the school board meeting.

Key dates for planning purposes were made available after the meeting.

Teachers will be reporting back in the classroom for professional development days starting on Aug. 18, with a flex day on Aug. 17. New teacher orientation will be on Aug. 12 and 13.

Students will begin classes the following week. The first day of school for K-12 students will be on Aug. 24. Preschool students will begin classes on Aug. 31.

Homecoming will be on Oct. 9, with a two hour early dismissal for the Homecoming parade.

Thanksgiving week will have Parent Teacher Conferences Nov. 23, and 24, with no school the remainder of the week. Classes will resume after Thanksgiving on Nov. 30.

Christmas break will begin with early dismissal on Dec. 22, and will continue until classes resume on Jan. 4, 2027.

Spring break will begin on March 12, with some parent teacher conferences on that day. School will resume on March 22.

Graduation for the high school class of 2027 will be on May 23. The last day of school for students will be on May 27. The last professional development day for teachers will be on Tuesday, June 1.

Up to four snow days are planned in the schedule, with no make-up required at the end of the school year. After 5 days, the school board will determine how the time is made up.
