Five members of the Webster City High School band joined students from across Iowa to participate in the Northern Festival of Bands at the University of Northern Iowa last weekend. Students are selected through a competitive process to perform in one of three ensembles: the Concert Band (9th–10th grade), Symphony Band (11th–12th grade), or Symphony Orchestra (composed primarily of All-State musicians). Participants spent two and a half days in intensive rehearsals culminating in a Saturday afternoon concert. Webster City High School was represented by Ava Orr, Jackson Meyer, Ava Ely, Elsie Stevens and Jasmin Venegas. In addition, Ava Ely, Jackson Meyer, and Jasmin Venegas were selected to perform solos during the concert, highlighting their exceptional musicianship.
