The Webster City Fire Department illuminated the streets in 2024. Parade entries are still accepted and those planning to participate need to contact the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce. In the event of bad weather, the event will be postponed.
It’s one of the most magical events of the season, as downtown Webster City comes alive with festive floats and bright lights as Santa Claus arrives in an array of color as he visits Webster City during the Christmas in the City celebration.
It’s not too late to be part of this festive night. The Karl Lighted Christmas Parade is still seeking more entries for Saturday night.
Floats, bicyclists, walkers, cars, trucks and anything that can be lit up can be included in the parade through downtown Webster City starting at 5:30 p.m.
The lineup begins on Seneca Street by West Twin Park and will travel north on Seneca to Second Street, where it then turns west. The parade ends at the corner of Prospect and Second Streets.
At the close of the parade, the tree will be lit in the Availa plaza, with hot chocolate provided by Neighborhood Realty.
Registration can be done on the Chamber website: www.visitwebstercityiowa.com and fill in the information about the entry and contact information. This is what will be used to describe your float during the parade, and recorded through Facebook Live. John Marvel will be the announcer for the parade.
All entrants will contacted by email to notify participants the order and location in the parade.
In the event the weather is too hazardous the parade may be postponed.
For more information contact the Webster City Chamber of Commerce office at 515-832-2564.
