This photo shows the home in better days. This was from the Hamilton County Assessor's Beacon website.

The pink and purple home with tulips surrounding the entrance to the home is no longer.

Last Tuesday, the city of Webster City removed the home, which had survived many years of entertaining, family life, laughter and love, finally had to be destroyed.

The home, located at 1402 Willson Ave., was built in 1880 according to the Hamilton County Assessor’s website Beacon. The two-story wood home was rated in very poor condition according to the website.

The property had exchanged hands several times in the last 10 years, according to the Beacon site, but was currently listed as owned by the City of Webster City.

It fell into the category of a nuisance, a term established under the city code describing properties which were either neglected or had become dangerous. The house had several owners who attempted to restore the home. Sadly, the time to restore had long passed, and the result is the loss of a beautiful part of Webster City’s history.

Starting at $3.46/week.
