Four Webster City Middle School students earned All-District honors and participated in the North Central Iowa Bandmasters Association — NCIBA — District Honor Band held in Algona on November 15.
Their day consisted of individual placement auditions in front of a judge, ensemble rehearsals to prepare their music, and an outstanding concert to wrap up the event, according to a media release from Webster City Middle School Band Director Kent Wesselink.
“Each student represented Webster City Schools with pride and professionalism throughout the festival,” he said.
Webster City Middle School students selected for All-District honors were:
Carsten Hrnicek, clarinet;
Henry Evan Romero, euphonium;
Lydia Propes, flute;
Tanner Lenning, trombone.
“These talented musicians were chosen through a highly competitive process and had the opportunity to perform alongside some of the finest young instrumentalists in the North Central Iowa region,” Wesselink said.
