Law enforcement is investigating the death of a man at Webster City home

Authorities have not identified the deceased

Law enforcement in Webster City is investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered early Monday morning.

Police Chief Steve Hanson reported that officers with the Webster City Police Department were dispatched to a home at 1403 Des Moines Street, Webster City, around 5:30 a.m. Monday, October 20.

“Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male inside the residence,” Hanson said in a media release.

“The cause of death remains under investigation and is pending an autopsy at the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office.”

The man’s identity was not disclosed.

Hanson said his identity was being withheld pending proper notification of family members.

The investigation remains ongoing.
