Hamilton County Veteran’s Affairs supports Operation Green Light
This Veteran’s Day will be the fifth anniversary of Operation Green Light and the Hamilton County Veteran’s Affairs office is ready.
Amanda Kwalkorf, director of the Hamilton County Veteran Affairs, is coordinating the green light program in Hamilton County.
The National Association of Counties — NACo — and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers – NACVSO — invite the nation’s 3,069 counties, parishes and boroughs to join them in showing support for veterans by lighting buildings green from Tuesday, November 4, to Tuesday, November 11.
“By shining a green light, county governments and our residents will let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported,” a media release states.
“Green light bulbs are being distributed to all who are willing to light up their support for our veterans.”
The light bulbs are available free at the Veteran Affairs office located at 1610 Collins Avenue, Webster City.
The Veteran Affairs office is asking community members to recognize the importance of honoring all those who made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve freedom by displaying green lights in a window of their place of business or residence.
Last week, the Hamilton County Supervisors issued a proclamation promoting Operation Green Light for Veterans.
