All State winners

Of the 13 Webster City High School students who auditioned Saturday for All State Band and Choir in Hampton, six were selected to participate.

Two others were chosen as alternates, and one student received a recall, according to Kaitlynn Abens, Webster City’s ninth- to 12th-grade Instrumental Music leader.

Here’s a list of the accepted students:

Ava Ely, Flute 2; Ava Orr, Clarinet 3; Jackson Meyer, Flute alternate; Rinoa Raygor, Alto 1; Ash Tinoco, Alto 2 alternate; Max Anderson, Tenor 1; Jack Barner, Bass 1; and Aiden Haman, Bass 1.

Paisyn Bare received a recall as a soprano.

The All State Music Festival will take place on November 21 and 22 at Iowa State University in Ames. Students will participate in rehearsals and then put on a concert Saturday night, November 22.

“The students selected to be in the All State Band and Choir are among the top musicians in the state,” Abens said.
