Absentee ballots will be available on Wednesday, Oct. 15
Hamilton County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Kim Schaa has announced that absentee ballots for Nov. 4, 2025, City/School Elections will be available in the Hamilton County Auditor’s Office starting Wednesday, Oct. 15.
All voters are required to provide ID for proof of identity and residence before receiving and casting a ballot.
To obtain an absentee ballot, a qualified voter must complete an Official Absentee Ballot Request Form and submit it to the Hamilton County Auditor’s Office. Upon receipt of the request form, an absentee ballot and voting instructions will be mailed to you.
Official Absentee Ballot Request Forms are available at www.hamiltoncounty.org, or www.sos.iowa.gov/elections-voting.
If you do not have printer capability or access to the internet, you may call the auditor’s office to have a request form mailed to you. The number to call is 515-832-9510.
Absentee/early voting:
The first day to vote absentee in the auditor’s office is Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The last day to vote at the auditor’s office is 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 3.
Voting by mail:
The first day to mail requested absentee ballots is Oct. 15.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to the voter is 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20.
