Tour de Webster and Oktoberfest are Saturday in Webster City

The Tour de Webster and Oktoberfest are Saturday, September 27.

The race begins at 1 p.m.; the scenic ride begins at 1:30 p.m.

The “scenic route” travels city streets and the Boone River Trail to Briggs Woods Park and back; the “road race route” of 29.5 miles is via city streets and county roads to Woolstock and return.

Both end at Seneca Street Saloon where the annual Oktoberfest celebration will be in full swing. Special food and beer menus are planned, and Webster City’s own Actung! Polka Band will provide German-style Oktoberfest music.

In addition to their regular menu, Saloon owners Greg and Tami Olson will serve special tap beers, a bratwurst and sauerkraut pizza, and pretzels.

The city is closing Seneca Street to car traffic to provide room for revelers to sit outside and enjoy the September weather. The band is also planning to play outside.

Polka music begins at 5 p.m., continuing until about 8 p.m.

There is no charge to listen to the music, but freewill donations will be accepted.

Starting at $3.46/week.
