WCCT reflects on the past season and prepares for upcoming productions

The event included a dinner and a review of the four productions staged over the previous year: "Steel Magnolias," "Disney's Newsies Jr.," "Of Men and Cars" and "Little Shop of Horrors."
Directors Stephanie Hill, Lindsay Henderson, Loween Getter and Anne Blankenship recognized the efforts of dedicated volunteers by presenting Willing Worker Awards to KeVon Edwards, Karina Murray, Kevin Sharp and Rachel Derrig.
In addition, Getter presented the Friends of WCCT Award to Tony Nelson and Wildcat Distilling Co. The business hosted two successful murder mystery events featuring WCCT performers and generously donated a portion of the proceeds to support the theatre's summer children’s program.
Al Yungclas received the President's Award in recognition of his longstanding service and expertise as a master set builder.
WCCT also unveiled its upcoming season lineup:
"The Café Mocha Murders" -- October 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12;
"Twelve Angry Jurors" -- February 27, 28, March 1, 6, 7 and 8, 2026;
"The Roommate" -- April 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2026;
"Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr." -- June 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28, 2026.
In addition to these productions, WCCT announced it will host the Iowa Community Theatre Association -- ICTA -- convention in March 2026. As part of this event, a special senior musical production, featuring performers aged 55 and older, will also be presented.
During the meeting, elections were held for the board of directors. Lindsay Henderson was elected president, Angela Rottering vice president, Dale Arends treasurer, and Loween Getter secretary. Katie Hildal was elected as a board member, Abby Heckert as youth board member, and Anne Blankenship will serve as past president.
The evening included a moment of remembrance for WCCT members who passed away over the past year.
