IT’S BUSINESS: Fast facts on Jordan Johnson

Jordan Johnson is the new Executive Director for Legacy Learning-Boone River Valley– BRV, located at 719 Seneca Street.
Johnson began this new position on July 21. She has a dual role, working between the Produce Pottery Station and the Legacy Learning-BRV offices. She can be found at one or the other buildings Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., (later when teaching classes) and Fridays until 1 p.m.
She also is a photographer, and has started a business, J.C.J. Images Photography. For the first class this fall, she will be teaching a smart phone photography class on August 26.
As the Executive Director, Johnsons role is the daily management of Legacy Learning, setting up classes and marketing.
She attended Ssouth Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, and had a double major in Ag Communication and Ag Leadership with a minor in Marketing.
Johnson lives on a Century Farm in Webster County, and is the third generation living on the family farm. She is currently restoring and remodeling her grandparents home, where she currently lives.
“I’m still a farm girl,” Johnson said, “I still have chores at home.”
Jordon works with her parents, Brian and Lacy Johnson, “We raise around 100 head of purebred Angus cattle, along with Herefords,” she said. “I’ve been raising and showing cattle most of my life.”
It’s a big shift for Johnson.
“It’s definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, but a lot of my marketing has been for farm and cattle. So it’s still related,” she said.
