It’s ‘Back to School’ at tonight’s Market Night
Back-to-School Night at Webster City Market Nights returns tonight. This is your chance to give back, celebrate community and get into the school spirit.
A Webster City school bus will be the collection point for school supplies for the Webster City Community School District. This will be located on Des Moines Street. All donations go directly into local classrooms to support students and relieve teachers who often purchase materials themselves.
Items needed include notebooks, facial tissues, pencils, markers, crayons and other school essentials. Webster City athletes will be helping collect supplies and greet fans.
A special youth activity is a youth bake-off that is hosted by Kendall Young Library. Participants must be under the age of 18 to win prizes. Entries need to be delivered to the booth on Des Moines street by 5 p.m. The public will vote on their favorite cake from 5:15 to 7 p.m.
Music will be provided by Kris Karr at the Availa Bank Plaza, sponsored by the Iowa Central Community College.
Food trucks this week include Loudi’s, Chick-fil-A, The Feedshack, Quick & Fresh, El Taco Riendo, Best Spudz, Taqueria el Pairiso, The Main Scoop, Kathryn’s Crazy Kettle Corn, Kona Ice, Tropical Sno.
While you’re here, grab a bite or a sip at one of the downtown Webster City businesses, such as Mornin’ Glory Coffee, Wildcat Distilling Co., Leon’s Pizza, La Perla Mexican Restaurant, Chicago Style, Grama’s Diner.
The three special programs are also ongoing: Youth Fresh Produce Voucher Program, the Vendor Passport Program, and the Market Night in a Box Pickup.
The sponsor for Market Nights this season continues to be American Sanitation.
