All safe after semi, van collision

Even the hogs inside the trailer were safe and keeping cool after a van and semi accident on the east side of Stratford Thursday afternoon. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Wyatt Opperman said a 2005 semi hauling hogs was eastbound on Highway 175 at the same time a 2023 van was also eastbound and attempted to turn north on Teneyck Avenue when it was T-boned by the semi. No injuries were reported to either the driver of the van or the two people in the semi. The semi came to rest in the north ditch; its back wheels slightly off the ground.
Inside the trailer, the hogs were squealing as hogs are known to do. They looked comfortable and were getting hosed down occasionally by the Stratford Volunteer Department to help keep them cool. The van was towed from the scene on a trailer, and a second semi was dispatched to safely offload the hogs.
The accident happened at about 3:15 p.m. Thursday. Names were not yet available for release.
