‘Together We Fair’

The Hamilton County Fair Parade is the official public opening of the fair.
The highlight of the Hamilton County Fair this evening — at least some people — is the coronation this evening that will result in the crowning of the new Hamilton County Fair Queen.
Seven young women want to be the next Hamilton County Fair Queen. They are Kate Feltz, Daytona Ferrie, Marissa Rae Miller, McKenna Miller, Abby Peterson, Abby Richardson and Avery Teague.
The 2024 Queen Emalie Perez will crown the winner. Judging occurred Saturday, July 19.
The coronation ceremony begins at 6 p.m. at the Grandstand on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds, 1200 Bluff Street, Webster City.
But that’s not all that is happening at the fair today. Here’s the 4-H and FFA schedule:
8 a.m. — Horse Show at the Horse Arena — Showmanship, Performance Lots, and Trail Lots;
8 a.m. — Poultry Show at the Show Arena;
9 a.m. — Check in/weigh Market and Breeding Sheep in the Swine Barn;
Following the sheep check in/weigh goats (Meat and Dairy), Bottle Lambs, and Bottle Goats in the Goat Barn;
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. — 4-H exhibits on display in the Van Diest Building;
11 a.m. — Rabbit Showmanship in the Show Arena (will resume after dress-up show class);
12:30 p.m. — Rabbit exhibitor meeting with Show to follow in the Show Arena;
1 p.m. — Beef (dairy and market) may be penned (no beef penned prior to this time);
8 p.m. to 10 p.m. — Hogs may arrive. Must be vet-checked on the trailer prior to unloading.
Elsewhere on the fairgrounds, here’s what’s going on:
8 a.m. to noon — Open class check in Field and Garden, Products of the Kitchen and the First Flower Show; judging starts at 1 p.m.
8 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Creative Showcase Exhibits;
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Co-op Kids Zone in the Co-op Building;
Noon — Books in the Barn with Hamilton County 4-H.;
1:30 p.m. — Spelling Bee on the Ed Prince Stage;
4 p.m. — Midway opens — Scott Amusements. Wristbands will be honored from 7 to 10 p.m.
2:30 p.m. — Rock Painting sponsored by Sogard Excavating;
3:30 p.m. — Pedal Pull, south of Coop Building, sponsored by Hamilton County Farm Bureau;
4 p.m. — Junior Rabbit Project Show in the Show Arena;
4 to 7 p.m. — Commercial Exhibits in the Ed Prince Building;
Lynn the Mime on the fairgrounds throughout the day;
6 p.m. — Queen Coronation at the Grandstand;
7 p.m. — Blaine Garrett & Blake Jack & South 35, sponsored by Pioneer Seed — Arends Ag Service, Carden Seed, Evolution Ag Services, Swenson Ag/Sicard Seed, Peterson Ag Services on the Keim TS Stage.
