Stratford will get loose with three days of fun this weekend

STRATFORD — Stratford is opening the streets with three days of activities as they kick off Stratford On the Loose on Friday, July 11 through Sunday, July 13.

Festivities begin at 3 p.m. Friday with the Stratford Communications Annual Celebration and Barbeque. A freewill donation will be accepted for the meal, which will benefit the Stratford Fire & Rescue. The food will be available until 7 p.m., when the evening wraps up with music by Booneshine.

On Saturday, the parade starts at 10 a.m. organized by the Stratford Lions. After the parade residents and visitors can participate with activities for all ages.

Activities for children include rides and inflatables, a petting zoo, face painting and crafts at the library. At noon a pedal pull and kids waterfight will be held.

Other activities throughout the day Saturday include a 4-H food drive, bake sale, bags tournament at Noon, a beer garden that opens at noon and a street dance starting at 5 p.m.

The Stratford Lions will be serving snow cones and popcorn throughout the day and lunch will be available in the north shelter, which will be a Stratford Food Center Fundraiser

The weekend celebration wraps up on Sunday, July 13 at the Stratford City Park with a Community Church service at 9:30 a.m. and lunch served at noon. The noon luncheon is a fundraiser for the Shakespeare Community Center.
