Saturday’s rain sent the Boone River up to 5,000 cfs, data shows
The Boone River topped out at 5,000 cubic feet per second at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, according to the USGS online data.
That rose dramatically from 1210 cfs recorded at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
Heavy rain on Saturday flooded local intersections and some businesses, including the Hy-Vee Food Story at 823 Second Street in Webster City where water rose past the loading dock doors.
More than 4 inches of rain reportedly fell on Webster City over the weekend.
