Queen McKenna

McKenna Miller was crowned 2025 Hamilton County Fair Queen Wednesday night on the grandstand during the Hamilton County Fair.

A hot, steamy night welcomed the crowd that witnessed the crowning of the new Hamilton County Fair Queen McKenna Miller.

She was crowned by the 2024 Hamilton County Fair Queen Emalie Perez during the grandstand event.

Miller is a 2025 graduate of South Hamilton High School. Her parents are Leigh Miller and Ryan Miller of Stanhope.

First runner-up was Daytona Ferrie, of Story City. She is the daughter of Nathan and Lindsey Ferrie. Ferrie was also named Miss Leadership.

Kate Feltz, of Webster City, was named second runner-up. Her parents are Leah Mason and Jeremiah Feltz.

Ferrie was named Miss Congeniality..

Also competing for the title were Marissa Rae Miller, the daughter of Sarah Holt and Danny Miller, Abby Peterson daughter Mary and Kent Peterson, Abby Richardson the daughter of Adam and Angie Richardson and Avery Teague, the daughter of Joe and Kristy Teague.

Also Wednesday, Clark Vold was named Hamilton County Friend of Fair. Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame recipients were Earl and Lesa Vold.

The fair continues today with loads of events. Here’s the 4H/FFA schedule:

7 to 8 a.m. — Hogs may arrive. They must be vet checked on the trailer prior to unloading;

8 a.m. — Breeding & Market Sheep Show in the Show Arena, Show Order: Showmanship, Breeding, Market, Champions;

9 a.m. — Swine & Beef must be penned;

9 a.m. — Weigh swine in the Swine Barn;

9 a.m. — Check-in/weigh Market Beef in the Beef Barn;

10 a.m. — Check-in for Bucket/Bottle Calves;

10 a.m. to 7 p.m. — 4-H exhibits on display in theVan Diest Building’;

1 p.m. — Goat Show (Meat & Dairy) in the Show Arena;

3 p.m. — Dairy Cow Show in the Show Arena;

4:30 p.m. — 4-H Awardrobe Clothing Event Style Show in theVan Diest Building.

There’s plenty of other fair events going on throughout the day as well. Here’s the schedule:

7 to 9:30 a.m. — Breakfast sponsored by the Hamilton County Fair Foundation;

10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Creative Showcase exhibits;

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Co-op Kids Zone in the Co-op Building;

Noon — Books in the Barn with Hamilton County 4-H;

2:30 p.m. — Cookie Decorating sponsored by Sogard Excavating;

4 p.m. — Midway Opens with Scott Amusements (wristbands honored from 7 to 10 p.m.)

3:30 p.m. — Pedal Pull south of Co-op Building sponsored by Hamilton County Farm Bureau;

4 to 7 p.m. — Commercial Exhibits in the Ed Prince Building;

4:30 p.m. — Bucket/Bottle Lamb exhibitor group picture in the Show Arena;

4:45 p.m. — Bucket/Bottle Lamb Show in the Show Arena;

All day — Lynn the Mime and Hillbilly Bob on the fairgrounds.

7 p.m. — Hot Laps: Thursday Night Thunder Races.
