Webster City woman accused of identity theft was employed at Mary Ann’s Specialty

A Webster City woman facing an identity theft charge is scheduled to go to trial in Hamilton County on August 26.

Paula Eulogia Rodriguez Martinez, 1132 Second Street, faces a felony identity theft charge “over $10,000,” according to online court records.

She was charged after Webster City Police were informed of the issue in April.

“On 4/28/25 a report was initiated for identity theft at the WCPD. The reporting party was trying to obtain medical benefits and was denied due to someone using her identity at Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods,” the criminal complaint filed by Officer Steve Thumma states.

“The defendant was currently working at Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods in Webster City. The defendant admitted that she was using the name Vanessa Ochoa to obtain employment at Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods. The defendant has been employed there since 2022. The defendant allowed officers to enter her home to recover the identity documents using the name Vanessa Ochoa. Recovered documents include a social security card and birth certificate.

“The defendant has earned over $50,000 in 2024 alone. The full amount will be added to the case file.”

Rodriguez Martinez filed a written plea of not guilty on May 27.

Starting at $3.46/week.
