Volunteers are encouraged to help with clean-up day on Saturday

The City of Webster City is encouraging community members to volunteer to help with the clean-up event on June 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. To volunteer, call 515-832-9151 to put your name on the list.

The collection site is the Webster City Middle School parking lot, 1101 Des Moines Street, Webster City.

The Webster City Clean-Up/Drop Off event is two days this weekend — Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14. On June 13, it is from noon to 4 p.m. On June 14, it is from 8 a.m. to noon.

Items that will be accepted: appliances, box fans/ceiling fans, carpet pieces, computer towers, exercise equipment/bicycles, grill/lawn furniture, household furniture, microwaves, misc. household items, scrap metal items.

Items that will not be accepted: animal carcasses, nothing with liquid in it, including batteries, paint cans, oil cans; concrete, bricks or rocks, printers/fax machines, gun ammo, fireworks, propane tanks/cylinders, hazardous materials, regular household garbage, large amounts of building materials, roofing materials, monitors/keyboards, televisions, medical sharps, tires, nothing containing asbestos, yard waste.

This event is for Webster City residents only. The city encourages residents to take full advantage of these no-fee clean up days. The goal is to clean up Webster City and allow residents to dispose of items that cannot be placed in the regular garbage or be recycled.
