Sarah Nachazel is new Northeast Hamilton Elementary School principal
Sarah Nachazel has been confirmed as the new Northeast Hamilton Elementary School principal.
The process of hiring a new NEH principal began in March; 25 applicants were eventually narrowed down to a list of three finalists. Those finalists were interviewed on May 9th.
Nachazel was chosen from those finalists.
“We undertook a comprehensive and methodical search to identify the most qualified and capable leader for our elementary school,” Superintendent Matt Berninghaus said in a media release.
“After a thorough evaluation of input from the four interview committees and thoughtful consideration of feedback gathered through the stakeholder survey, there was a strong consensus supporting the appointment of Ms. Nachazel as the new principal of Northeast Hamilton Elementary School.”
Interview teams consisted of parent and community members, elementary staff, administrators and district office staff.
For the past two years, Nachazel has served the North Iowa School District as a K-12 associate principal/7-12 activities director.
Prior to that, she served as a school improvement facilitator for Prairie Lakes AEA.
Nachazel completed her principal licensure program at Drake University in 2008. Prior to earning her Master’s in Educational Leadership, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Buena Vista University in 1998.
“I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to be the next principalof Northeast Hamilton Elementary,” Nachazel said in a media release. “I look forward to meeting students, families and staff and learning more about the traditions and values that make this school special.”
