Applications now being accepted for Stearns Trust Scholarships and Grants
Teresa Treat Stearns established a trust to benefit the community of Webster City and surrounding areas.
The income from the trust is designated to support individuals, families, organizations, and groups in need, with a focus on providing assistance for scholarships, charitable causes, and educational or religious initiatives.
Applications for the resulting grants and scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year are now being accepted.
The Stearns Trust Scholarship is available to graduates of Webster City High School who are pursuing higher education at any accredited college, university, vocational school, or nursing program. Priority will be given to students entering their junior or senior year of college, or those in the second year of a two-year vocational program.
Applications for the scholarship are available at GreenState Credit Union in Fort Dodge or may be requested by phone or email. Completed applications must be submitted to GreenState Trust Services at 1207 Central Avenue, Fort Dodge, IA 50501 by May 23, 2025.
The Trust also supports organizations with charitable, religious, or educational missions. If your organization is working on a project or program that could benefit from financial support, we encourage you to submit a grant request. Grant applications should include:
— A description of the project or program;
— A detailed budget;
— The number of individuals who will benefit;
— A listing of other funding sources.
To be considered for funding this spring, grant requests must be received by May 23.
