Annie’s Project will focus on women who farm
STORY CITY — Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting an Annie’s Project course at Fairview Lodge, 708 Grove Ave., Story City, beginning in June. Classes will be held every Tuesday evening from 5:30 to p.m., June 3 to July 8.
Annie’s Project is a nationally recognized program that has empowered more than 20,000 women in agriculture since its launch in 2003. Designed to strengthen farm management and decision-making skills, the six-session course focuses on five key areas of risk management: financial, human resources, legal, marketing, and production.
“Annie’s Project empowers women by offering a valuable set of business-based workshops. The program helps participants learn ways to make better financial and risk management decisions,” said to Madeline Schultz, ISU Extension and Outreach Women in Agriculture Program manager.
The cost of the course is $100, which includes supper each week and course materials. Farm Credit Services of America is the statewide sponsor. For more information, contact Katherine MacKenzie in Story County at 515-337-1601, or via e-mail katmack@iastate.edu.
