Dr. Kristin (Fox) Craft is named Distinguished Educator

Boerne, Texas — Boerne Independent School District is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Kristin (Fox) Craft has been named a Distinguished Educator of the Year by Sam Houston State University.

She attended St. Thomas Aquinas grade school in Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School in 1991. She then went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with Teaching Certification in 1995.

She is the daughter of David and Jean Fox of Webster City.

SHSU shared that, “Great educators do more than teach — they spark change, inspire growth and leave a lasting impact on the world. This spring, SHSU’s College of Education honored five exceptional alumni at the Distinguished Educator of the Year gala.”

Dr. Craft was one of them.

“This prestigious award is the highest honor that the College of Education can bestow upon its graduates. From counselors leading mental health initiatives to superintendents transforming entire school districts, these educators extend their influence far beyond the classroom, shaping the future of educational leadership for generations to come.”

Board of Trustees President Garrett Wilson said, “We are proud of Dr. Craft and congratulate her on this honor. Her leadership, dedication to students, and support of staff and the entire Boerne community are obvious to us all. In just over one year, she has helped us hone our vision and set a new course for our incredible district. It’s gratifying that educational leaders in our state also recognize her excellence.”

Craft attended the gala in person in March alongside her family and other honorees. She earned both her Master’s degree (’03) and her Doctorate of Education in (’11) from SHSU.

Starting at $3.46/week.
