Freeze warning

Members of Webster City Fire put their ice rescue skills to work Saturday, the goal being to fine tune their work.
“This is one of many rescue capabilities the department is able to provide,” Chuck Stansfield, Webster City fire chief said in a media release.
“We worked specifically on how to remove victims out of the water that have fallen through the ice, and how to remove multiple victims.”
Professional Rescue Innovations (PRI) with Jerry Eslick conducted the training, bringing years of experience to the training, Stansfield said.
Eslick is pictured in the orange jacket.
Webster City Fire’s Capt. Andy Sowle was the (cold) man in the water being rescued.
“This was just another way our firefighters are working hard for our community to keep them safe when emergencies occur,” Stansfield said. “If you’re going to go ice fishing, always check on ice conditions to ensure safety of yourself and those with you.”
