City Council expected to accept emergency grant for fire renovation
The City Council of Webster City will meet this evening in the council chambers of City Hall, 400 Second Street, Webster City.
This meeting begins at 6 p.m.
On the agenda is the acceptance by the city of a $100,000 emergency grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority to help repair 608 Second Street, Webster City.
This is a 2024 Community Catalyst and Building Remediation Emergency Grant.
“These funds are to be used for the Fire Renovation project,” the letter from IEDA Director Debi Durham reads.
The council is also expected to hear wastewater, electric, and water reports for August, as well as Police and Fire Department activity reports for August.

It is also expected to approve a parade permit for the Webster City Community School District Homecoming Parade. This parade will be on October 11. Staging to begin at
approximately 1:30 p.m. with the parade beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The council will consider a resolution authorizing and approving a loan agreement, and providing for the sale and issuance of general obligation bonds and providing for the
levy of taxes to pay the same.
The council will also seek bids and set a public hearing for minor materials for the
Phase 1 Electric Distribution Improvements Project. The planned public hearing time would be October 21 at 6:05 p.m.
