All that’s Grand

The preservation of the historic grandstand on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds is nearly complete, according to Jamie Griffith, Hamilton County Fair director.

Midwest Paint should finish its part of the task this week, she said. It cost $73,600 to paint the iconic wooden structure.

The total cost of the restoration project, including repairs, is $100,000, she said.

The Hamilton County Fair Board received a $10,000 Enhance Hamilton County grant for the Grandstand Preservation Project. The Hamilton County Speedway Racing Association — HCSRA — donated $15,000. Another $5,000 was donated by Seneca Foundry.
