Legislative forum is Saturday

State Sen. Dennis Guth and state Rep. Shannon Latham will be back in Webster City Saturday for the third in a series of Legislative Forums sponsored in part by the Daily Freeman-Journal and hosted by Iowa Central Community College.

The forum will run from 11 a.m. until noon in the Chelsvig Center on the Iowa Central Community College Webster City campus, 1725 Beach Street.

Guth, a Hancock County Republican, and Latham, a Republican representative from Franklin County, field questions from the audience during this forum, which is designed to discuss legislation being considered in the current session.

Jim Kersten, vice president of External Affairs and Government Relations for Iowa Central Community College, will moderate Saturday’s forum.

This is an opportunity for local residents to speak to their state legislators.  Attendees who would like to ask questions will be asked to write them on cards provided. Kersten reads the questions.

Iowa Central Community College, in partnership with the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Webster City, KQWC News Radio, and the Daily Freeman-Journal hosts the political forum.

One forum more will follow Saturday’s event: It will be on April 27. The final forum will be in the same location and will also be moderated by Kersten.

The community and public are urged to attend. Registration is encouraged but not required. Online registration is available at visitwebstercityiowa.com or by calling the Chamber office at 515-832-2564.
